Seriously, I have a theory. Apple is breaking up iTunes on the Windows side of the house into a Music app and a TV app. Not sure what the plan is for podcasts or books. For now, they stay in old app.
I think we are seeing growing pains from the split up of those apps. Really think this has been a server issue.
